After a cancer diagnosis, a care team is created to holistically manage a patient’s treatment. The care team consists of medical professionals, the cancer patient, his or her caregivers and other professionals such as social workers and chaplains. This cross-discipline team discusses options with the cancer patient and caregivers to determine the best treatment plan.
