6b. Family-Organized Fundraisers

Family organized fundraisers can be a lot of fun and an awesome way to raise funds. However, this can lead to problems if one is not careful. Again, the family member, or members organizing the fund raising, should look into local, state and federal laws, and talk to a bank about a fund raising or medical account. These monies should be kept separate from anyone’s private funds and if possible; receipts or statements should be kept.
