Along with community groups, churches are also often generous and take up collections to help cover medical expenses. While it may be difficult for a patient to ask for help from their church, they are encouraged to schedule a meeting with church leadership and let them know of their need for financial assistance. Remembering that churches want to help people out as part of their mission may be helpful. A chaplain from Essentia Health can also call church leadership to ask if any help would be available.
